Dear MSA Colleagues,
As we work our way through fall on our journey to winter, activity for the 2019 Congress in Rethymnon is accelerating.We have already received many excellent proposals and urge you to submit your proposal soon if you intend to do so.It is our goal to get a response to you within 10 days after receiving your proposal.Keep in mind that all proposals must be submitted using the online paper or session submission form on the website www.mediterraneanstudies.org. In order to present your paper at the conference you must have a membership and register. Early registration savings end February 1, 2019, after this date the registration fee increases.
HOTELS
During our visit to Rethymnon in early October we stayed at the 5 * Aquila Porto Rethymnon Hotel at a special reduced rate. It is an excellent hotel but very pricy. For that reason Louise and I have reserved a room at the Kriti Beach Hotel, which is next door to the Aquila, nearly the same quality, and much cheaper. The morning coach pick-up and the closing reception on June 2 will also be at the Kriti Beach Hotel. Kriti Beach also offers rooms at the same price at their nearby sister hotel, the Kyma Suites. These hotels are on the MSA website at: www.mediterraneanstudies.org . Less expensive hotels have been recommended if you find the Aquila, Kriti or Kyma too expensive.
POST TOUR
We still have space available on the Educational Post Tour, but the rooms are going quickly, 12 of our 20 rooms have been taken. If you plan to register please do so soon. As an aside, we had an opportunity to visit the Galaxy Hotel in Heraklion when we will stay the last two nights of the post tour, June 4 & 5. It is a beautiful 5* luxury hotel and rooms will be available as a special discount price for those who wish to stay there June 7.
More information later, in the meantime please submit your proposals and register for the post tour if you plan to do so.
